Irish Coast Guard 15.2.2017

15th February 2017 – Speaking in Seanad Éireann on the lack of legislation afforded to the Irish Coast Guard

Minister Shane Ross does not believe they should be given a statutory footing similar to the other Emergency Services. Were he to join us on the West Coast of Ireland and see the actual work done by Coastguard volunteers and the danger they face on every call out he may have a different opinion. They are as vital as any other Emergency Service.
